SPECIAL PERMISSION HAS BEEN GRANTED FROM PAUL OF MENTAL IMAGE,
FOR THE ASSASSINS TO INCLUDE THESE GAMES ONLY ON THE ASSASSINS CD,

WELCOME TO THE FIRST DISK IN THE MENTAL IMAGE COLLECTION SERIES. THE FIRST
TWO GAMES ON THIS DISK WERE PREVIOUSLY RELEASED ON MENTAL IMAGE GAMEDISK 1
IN APRIL 1991, BUT UNFORTUNATELY THERE HAVE BEEN PROBLEMS RUNNING THEM ON
THE NEW AMIGAS. BEFORE I GO ON, HOWEVER, IT SHOULD BE POINTED OUT THAT I
CAN RUN BOTH OF OUR GAMEDISKS ON MY A4000 BY TAKING THE FOLLOWING STEPS:
1. FROM THE BOOT-UP MENU, SELECT DISABLE CPU CACHE. 2. NEXT SELECT EITHER
THE ORIGINAL OR ECS CHIPSETS. 3. FINALLY, BOOT WITH NO STARTUP-SEQUENCE. IF
COMMODORE WERE NOT SUCH A BUNCH OF LAMERS, THEY MIGHT HAVE GIVEN US THE
HARDWARE INFORMATION AND ALL THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED, BUT THAT, AS THEY
SAY, IS LIFE..... THEY KEEP MOANING ABOUT HOW THEY DON'T LIKE CODERS
HITTING THE HARDWARE DIRECTLY AND CAUSING PROBLEMS, BUT WHAT THEY FAIL TO
REALISE IS THAT IT IS NOT JUST PEOPLE LIKE GREMLIN AND BULLFROG WHO SELL
GAMES (GOOD AS THEY ALL ARE), BUT PD CODERS LIKE OURSELVES, THE HIDDEN, RED
SECTOR AND ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE WHO GIVE THEIR TIME AND EFFORT BECAUSE THEY
LOVE THE AMIGA. WHEN YOU WALK INTO A COMPUTER SHOP, YOU ARE JUST AS LIKELY
TO SEE A KEFRENS DEMO ADVERTISING AN AMIGA AS ZOOL, SO COMMODORE SHOULD
REALISE THAT WE PUT BUMS ON SEATS JUST AS WELL AS THEIR CHOSEN FEW. THAT
SAID, WE STILL APOLOGIZE TO ANYONE WHO HAS HAD TROUBLE RUNNING THE ORIGINAL
GAMEDISKS ON THEIR SHINY NEW AMIGA - WE CERTAINLY DIDN'T INTEND TO CAUSE
YOU ANY TROUBLE, AND HOPE THAT THIS GOES SOME WAY TO MAKING UP FOR THE
PROBLEM. KEEN STUDENTS OF MENTAL IMAGE HISTORY WILL NOTE THAT ONE GAME FROM
THE ORIGINAL DISK IS MISSING, NAMELY INVADERS. UNFORTUNATELY THE GUY WHO
CODED THIS GAME, BOZ, IS NO LONGER WITH US, AND I HAVE NOT GOT
THE SOURCE CODE SO THAT I CAN FIX IT. IF
THIS SITUATION CHANGES, I WILL DO ANOTHER DISK WITH INVADERS ONE AND TWO ON
IT. TO MAKE UP FOR IT, I HAVE INCLUDED A DEMO OF OUR LATEST PRODUCTION, A
FRUIT MACHINE SIMULATOR CALLED THE WINNING POST. THIS DEMO WILL ONLY RUN FOR
SIX MINUTES, BUT THE FULL RELEASE VERSION IS UNRESTRICTED. AS WELL AS HAVING
OVER 400K OF MUSIC AND 200K OF SOUND EFFECTS, THERE ARE THREE HIDDEN GAMES,
REALISTIC MOVEMENT, OVER 2 MEGABYTES OF ANIMATIONS IN THE FEATURE GAME, AND
SO MANY OTHER FEATURES THAT EVEN I CAN'T REMEMBER THEM ALL! THIS GAME IS
SHAREWARE, AND TO RECEIVE YOUR COPY ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SEND FIVE ENGLISH
POUNDS TO THE ADDRESS ON THE SHAREWARE PAGE. BEFORE I GO, I WOULD JUST LIKE
TO SAY A BIG THANK-YOU TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE REGISTERED WITH US, HAVE
